Fly Fisherman

Trevor Tatarczuk

I'm a stillwater fanatic, and can usually be found lurking the shoals on one of the many lakes located throughout the Peace and Cariboo regions of BC.

How long have you been fly fishing?

I started in 2000 and stillwater fly fishing is my hands down favourite.

Favourite holiday destination and why?

Spending time with friends and family on one of the many trophy lakes located in the Cariboo region of BC. The remoteness, beauty, and quality of these lakes are simply unsurpassed.

Favourite outdoor adventure story of all time?

My father went missing on a hunting trip in BC’s far north. My brothers and I, along with search and rescue, managed to locate him on day 7. There is so much more to this story and it has impacted my life in more ways than I can count.

Favourite fishing memory?

It would have to be the days spent fishing on the Fraser River as a young boy. I would grab my rod and tackle box, hop on my BMX and head straight to the river for the entire day.

Why do you love living where you live?

Prince George offers a perfect balance of a small town feel with all the amenities of a large city. You can drive an hour in any direction and have access to hundreds remote lakes. I also have family in Prince George so it is really nice to live in close proximity.

Favourite camp food?

Anything cooked on my smoker!

Must have accessory when in the wild?

Beer, of course!

My moto?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Principals to live by?

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
2. If you say you’re going to do something, do it.

What’s on your bucket list?

Fly fishing for Tarpon in Costa Rica
