Dan is a part-time fishing guide, full-time adventurer, and the curator of the trashiest flies. He is always willing to go the extra mile to get to the big fish.

How long have you been fly fishing?

I have been fishing since I could hold a rod in my hand. I fell in love with fly fishing about 15 years ago.

What’s your favourite type of fly fishing?

I love all types of fly fishing, but I am happiest stalking feeding trout on a small mountain stream, far from the distractions of everyday life.

Favourite holiday destination and why?

I have been lucky enough to travel much of the world. I guess my favorite holiday is the next one.

Why do you love living where you live?

I love its proximity to nature. In five minutes, I can be on one of three rivers, or I can explore some of the best single track trails in the world.

Favourite food?

I am a bit of a cliché, but (right now) it’s got to be the Ramen Butcher.

Must have accessory when in the wild?

Headlamp. I don’t ever leave home without it.

Favourite camping food?

My last camping meal was grilled Ribeye Steaks with mushroom demi and gnocchi. I never skimp on the food.

My motto?

If something is worth doing, then it’s worth doing right.

What’s on your bucket list?

All of it! Currently, I want to take a road trip through Montana and Colorado. My drift boat and dirt bike would accompany me the entire way.
